Peter Michael Dowd’s The King of Size has screened at festivals including the Austin Film Festival, the Durango Independent Film Festival, the Rincon International Film Festival, where it won Best Short Documentary, and the Little Rock Film Festival, where it won the World Shorts competition. The film was awarded a Moving Image Fund grant from the LEF Foundation. The Tribeca Film Institute awarded Dowd’s script (as co-writer) Chinafornia with the All-Access Award in 2011. Before making films, Dowd was the Curator of Film at the Museum of the Moving Image (New York) and Head of Film Programs at the George Eastman House: International Museum of Photography and Film. He has organized film exhibitions and retrospectives for festivals including the Vienna International Film Festival and Mexico City International Contemporary Film Festival. He has written about film for publications including the New York Sun, Spirit & Flesh, and Moving Image Quarterly.
